I build images from sources that are unreliable “facts”. Photos and films seem to carry some evidence of truth even when our memories have long forgotten that captured moment. Remembrances fade and stories evolve, yet these impressions constantly shape our perceptions throughout our lifetime. I’m interested in these echos of recollection and how they impact and form our life experiences. Is our existence simply a by-product of these memories and the subsequent stories we construct? And can that narrative be altered when these images are viewed in the context of a painting?
